Bachelor's Thesis
Design of Time and Frequency Offset Tracking Algorithms for Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM+) (B.Sc.)
13.01.2010, Diplomarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten
Digital Radio Mondiale Plus (DRM+) is a new digital VHF broadcasting technology with the potential to substitute the analog FM radio transmissions in Germany in the near future DRM+ uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) where tracking and compensation of time and frequency offsets is crucial for successful demodulation and decoding. In general the main focus of the thesis lies on the design of a test environment for time and frequency offset estimation and on the evaluation of different methods for estimation and compensation. Furthermore, the student needs to evaluate in how far the controller algorithms are suitable for a hardware implementation on an FPGA.
