Master's Thesis

Low-complexity methods for Channel Estimation and Equalization in OFDM-based broadcast systems (M. Sc.)

13.01.2010, Diplomarbeiten, Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten

Digital Radio Mondiale Plus (DRM+), a new ETSI standard for audio broadcasting in the very high frequency (VHF) regions, was published in September 2009. Like almost all modern digital broadcast technologies DRM+ uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), a robust multi-carrier transmission scheme that allows for estimation and equalization of the communication channel. The focus of this thesis lies on the analysis of different channel estimation and equalization techniques for DRM+ and on the design of low-complexity channel equalization methods for hardware-based implementations.
